Joe Killinger

Co-Founder/Broker

Joe Killinger is extremely well qualified in the sale of residential and commercial real estate. His expertise has been developed over the past 20 years. During that time he has been personally responsible for the sale of and/or directly involved in the marketing of over 5,900 assets, including nearly 100 commercial properties, resulting in closed transactions totaling over $542,000,000 throughout the United States.

During the mid 1980’s Joe owned and operated a private business, purchasing homes as investments in Southern California, rehabbing and developing them, then selling them for a profit. After closing that business during the downturn in the Real Estate market in the early 1990s Mr. Killinger was employed by Kennedy-Wilson, Inc. as a Project Manager. In that capacity he had oversight of all aspects of a real estate auction, from the implementation of marketing to the closing of the escrows.

In 1993, Mr. Killinger joined Mr. George Pino at The Sands Group, the Real Estate Auction division for Fred Sands Realtors and continued working at that company until 2002. During his time there he was responsible for targeting potential auction marketing opportunities, and conducting feasibility studies of the properties. His responsibilities included: Hiring and training of new sales agents; initial contact of potential clients; market analysis of property; pre-auction due-diligence work; selection of subcontractors and vendors; oversight of Title contractor; oversight of Escrow contractor; management of auction staff, including on-site agents, telemarketing agents, and support staff, and oversight of closing staff. During his tenure at The Sands Group Joe was personally responsible for the Pre-auction due-diligence, management of auction staff and oversight of the sales and closings of over 1,300 homes totaling over 81 million dollars in sales. Under his management, The Sands Group averaged a unprecedented closing rate of 96%. In
1995, in addition to The Sands Group, Mr. Killinger, along with Mr. Pino started O.P.M. Investments, LLC, a real estate holding company and Outside Property Management company.

In 2002, Mr. Killinger started Learning Links Centers, LLC, a new type of Socially Responsible Real Estate Investment Company, geared toward investing in low to moderate income neighborhoods of larger metropolitan areas of the United States and highlighting educational opportunities for their residents. Their first acquisition was a 29 unit building located in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Baldwin Village, an area known for its high density and high crime rate. To date, Learning Links Centers has acquired 7 buildings, for a total of 467 units, with a market value of over $10,000,000.

Concurrently with starting Learning Links Centers Joe Killinger along with George Pino was recruited by, and joined, DBL Realtors to start their commercial division. After the acquisition of DBL by Sotheby’s International Realty, Mr. Killinger noticed a need for a boutique commercial company that had it’s Client’s Best Interests in mind. Realizing this need he started Commercial Broker’s International, a full service commercial brokerage, along with George Pino. Mr. Killinger attended the University of Nebraska
