Commercial Brokers International (CBI) is seeking an experienced Managing Broker to lead our Los Angeles office.

This is more than a compliance position. It’s an opportunity to help build one of Southern California’s premier commercial real estate brokerages by developing agents, strengthening operations, recruiting experienced professionals, and cultivating a culture of accountability and long-term success.

The ideal candidate is a licensed California Broker who understands commercial brokerage operations, thrives in a leadership role, and takes pride in helping agents grow while maintaining the highest professional and regulatory standards.

What This Opportunity Involves

As Managing Broker, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of CBI’s Los Angeles office while serving as a trusted resource for our agents and staff.

You’ll provide mentorship, strengthen internal processes, oversee transaction compliance, and help recruit and retain experienced commercial real estate professionals. This role requires someone who can balance leadership, risk management, agent development, and business growth.

What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?

Brokerage Leadership

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Los Angeles office

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to commercial real estate agents

  • Serve as a primary leadership resource for agents and staff

  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and collaboration

  • Help agents strengthen their business-development practices and performance

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure brokerage activities comply with California real estate laws, licensing requirements, fair housing regulations, and company policies

  • Oversee transaction documentation, recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance

  • Monitor the proper handling of trust funds and transaction files

  • Identify and address compliance concerns before they become larger issues

  • Maintain and strengthen internal policies, procedures, and quality-control practices

Transaction Oversight

  • Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance

  • Assist agents with complex transactions and negotiations

  • Provide guidance throughout the transaction process, from contract to closing

  • Address client concerns and agent disputes professionally

  • Escalate legal, regulatory, or operational matters when appropriate

  • Help maintain an organized and efficient transaction process

Recruiting and Business Growth

  • Recruit experienced commercial real estate professionals who align with CBI’s values

  • Participate in candidate outreach, interviews, and evaluation

  • Support the onboarding, mentorship, development, and retention of agents

  • Strengthen CBI’s recruiting strategy and office culture

  • Help expand the brokerage’s presence, capabilities, and production

Required Qualifications

  • An active California Real Estate Broker License in good standing

  • A minimum of three years of commercial real estate experience

  • At least two years of leadership-development experience within commercial real estate

  • Experience supervising agents, overseeing transactions, or managing brokerage operations

  • A strong understanding of California real estate law, licensing requirements, and fair housing regulations

  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills

  • Excellent organizational and operational-management abilities

  • Ability to commute to and work from our Los Angeles office

  • A builder’s mindset and willingness to take on multiple responsibilities within a growing organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience managing commercial brokerage operations

  • Experience recruiting and retaining commercial real estate agents

  • Experience developing agent training, mentorship, or accountability programs

  • Familiarity with multiple commercial real estate asset classes and transaction types

  • Experience improving brokerage systems, procedures, and compliance practices

Compensation and Growth

CBI offers a competitive compensation structure designed to reward leadership, recruiting, and office growth. The structure may include:

  • A generous commission split

  • An annual office Gross Commission Income override

  • Recruiting overrides for agents successfully brought into the brokerage

  • Opportunities to grow alongside an expanding commercial real estate platform

Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, responsibilities, and agreed-upon compensation structure.
